The Russell House B&B and Tearoom are located in a quiet residential neighborhood in beautiful Adel Iowa.
Located just minutes form Kinnick-Feller park where you can enjoy a picnic, go for a swim or enjoy a game of tennis.
We are also within walking distance to Adel’s beautiful historic town square where you will find the Dallas County Courthouse – which resembles that of a French castle as well as several specialty shops around and near the “square”.
Also only minutes away is the Raccoon River Valley Bike Trail which will take you on a beautiful scenic tour of Iowa’s beautiful landscape.
Built in 1904 by prominent Adel attorney Burton Russell, our beautiful Victorian Four Square home will beckon you to take a step back, slow down and relax as done in eras gone by.
Our goal as your host at the Russell House is to welcome you into our home as if you were family or a dear friend. Whether you are traveling to Adel on business, riding the bike trails or visiting family or friends and need a place to stay, we want you to feel as if you are at home here.
Decorated with many of our family heirlooms and antiques, our entire owner-occupied B&B is open to you as our guest. Enjoy an evening out in the large open front porch with a tall glass of fresh brewed iced tea, curl up in your room with a good book or enjoy some television on our large screen TV in our comfortable living room. You could even find yourself being invited into the kitchen to help with the dishes. In the kitchen you will also find a never ending supply of fresh baked cookies, iced tea and a pot of coffee.
Tea Room Information
The Russell House is also home to Adel’s only Tearoom. The Russell House is host to Tea parties, luncheons and desserts.
For your group luncheon, we offer Several Menu Options to choose from including our wonderful Chicken Salad Croissant, our sinfully delectable Turtle Pie and of course our famous Strawberry Soup.
Special diets are always accommodated to the best of our ability.
Our afternoon Teas are served with a variety of Tea Sandwiches, desserts and, of course, tea. Coffee and other beverages are also available for those who do not “partake” in the art of “taking tea”.
Although small, we are hoping you will give our gathering place a try with your friends – put on your prettiest dress, gloves and hat or don a T-shirt and blue jeans. You will always be welcome here.
Resrvations are required at both the B&B and The Tearoom. The Tearoom also requires a minimum of 4 guests for lunch or dessert. We look forward to your visit.
